Friday Inspiration - Gift Planning

I really do get inspired planning out the gifts I'm going to make each year!  I seldom get even half of them ready for giving the year I planned, but they eventually get to their new owners.  I can't say which ones I'm definitely doing this year, as there are family members who read this blog, but here are some ideas that look like they could definitely be completed before Christmas.

These quick coasters have added benefit of being able to be made from yarn scraps, making them a thrifty gift also!  The color combinations are endless .... Get the free instructions at Marie-Lucienne's blog here.

After making my first pair of fingerless gloves, I've become a big fan!  You can keep your hands warm while using your phone, working on knitting, sewing, ..... These look like they will knit up quickly and are a simple enough style they'll appeal to many different tastes.  Ana Campos' pattern is on Ravelry here - you do have to buy it, but if you plan on making up multiples of these it'll be worth it!

Book pocket books!!  These are great!  See Kate Sew has a free tutorial here.

Who doesn't love little zippered bags?!  So many things to do with them, so many cool fabrics to make them from!  The Eternal Maker has a free tutorial here.

Bernat offers a free pattern for a cotton tie here.

This great crocheted tape measure cover uses scraps of yarns and leftover buttons.  A free tutorial is on the Simply Notable website.

Sarah Shepherd's textured shawlette/scarf only uses one skein of sock yarn and a pattern that looks simple enough to make it a quick knit.  Buy the pattern here on Ravelry.

And last but not least, Lia Griffith offers a free tutorial on making traditional stick horses from felt on her blog here.  There are so many ways one could customize these!

Happy Creating!  Deborah
